Just woke up at Paris Orly Aéroporte, backpacks checked and in need of a cup of coffee. And perhaps a croissant. Three more hours until Aigle Azur flight ZI35 takes off to Sao Paolo and then continues to Foz do Iguacu. We left yesterday at 5:30 in the morning towards Maastricht and after a seven-hour Flixbus-ride we arrived in the heart of Paris. A relaxing stroll along the Seine, photo at the Eiffel Tower and back to Gare d’Austerlitz, onto the train to Orly Aéroporte. To get into the backpacking spirit we hunted down a quiet area in the departure hall, inflated out matresses and spend the night sleeping at the airport.
The past few weeks, as expected, were packed with organizing, cleaning, moving out and farewell parties and visits. Nadieh already got a taste of Brazil, Chile and Bolivia during the holiday theme week at her job, which was all about South America for the occasion. In Ennepetal an apartment was cleared out and our new tent passed the test during our holiday in the Baltics.
But … As much as we like to travel, want to travel long, saying goodbye is not and will never be a pleasant thing to do. The kind messages, postcards and lucky charms all the more welcomingly received! In about 30 hours we hope to drop into a hostel in Foz do Iguacu, but first we will get ourselves a breakfast.
