Welcome to Wan∙der∙lust; our travel blog where we would like you to join us on our journey, our adventure and our dreams. Going on a trip around the world was a recurrent topic in recent years. Sometimes secretly daydreaming about white beaches, cosy hostels or strange dishes, the next day having long discussions about quitting our jobs, missing the people who stay at home and how on earth you can spend one year living out of a backpack when at home an entire house actually seems too small to hold all of your ‘desperately needed’ belongings.
Our train journey from Moscow to Beijing in 2013 lead to the fact that our conversations and plans became increasingly specific over the year and early December 2013 we made the decision, we’ll do it!
Back then 2015 was still far far away and we did not know where to start planning. Can we just take a year off and is that really what we want to do? What do we do with our house and all of our stuff? Where do we actually want to go and when? Fortunately, there is a lot to read and we do not have to reinvent the wheel over and over again.
Meanwhile, we started counting the days until our departure and only two months remain of the small eternity of waiting and organizing. Now that our blog is online, we will keep you up to date on our preparation in the Netherlands, but especially of our experiences that we will be facing in 2015.
